What the consultation solves
Most of the mistakes we see are not about the quality of the stone but the choice of it: white marble in a house with small children, a coffee table bigger than the gap between the sofa and the television, or a stone that looks beautiful alone and fights the floor colour. These are expensive mistakes, because stone is not easily returned.
What we go through with you
Size and circulation. The distances that have to stay clear so people can walk past and pull chairs out — the numbers forgotten more often than any others.
Colour against floor and light. Stone looks entirely different under warm light than under cool, and different over a dark floor than a pale one. That is judged from a photograph of your room, not from a catalogue.
How it will be used. A table used daily with coffee and children wants busy figuring and a honed finish. A decorative piece in a corner needs neither, so you can simply choose the most beautiful one.
Budget. Where it is worth spending and where it makes no difference. Top thickness, for instance, changes the price a great deal and the look very little.
