"How much is a marble table?" has no single answer, but it has a range and a logic. This explains both with real figures from our own catalogue rather than general estimates.
The short answer
Natural marble tables in Egypt start in practice around 3,000 EGP for small pieces such as lamps and décor objects, and reach 30,000 EGP for large pieces or rarer stones. What we actually sell most of sits near 12,000 EGP.
Far below that — a "marble" table at a thousand pounds — usually means it is not natural stone at all, but engineered marble or printed board. That is not a fault in itself, but it is a different product with a different lifespan, and the price should say so.
What actually sets the price
1) The stone
Egyptian marble costs less than imported; onyx costs more than either, because it is semi-translucent and cut with higher waste. Italian Breccia costs several times a local white marble of the same size.
2) Size and thickness
Price does not rise in a straight line with size. A larger slab means a higher chance of breaking during cutting and transport, and greater thickness means more weight and a harder installation.
3) The base
A solid wood base costs more than coated metal, and legs carved from the same stone cost more than both — because they mean cutting another block of the stone itself.
4) Is it natural stone at all?
This is the most important question and the least asked. Natural marble has veining that never repeats between pieces. If two pieces are identical in their veining, they are not natural stone.

Three questions that reveal a seller
Before paying anywhere, ask:
- Is the stone natural or engineered? If natural, ask to see a sample.
- Who delivers and who installs? If it is a courier, who covers a break in transit?
- What exactly are the dimensions? A seller who cannot give you length, width and height in centimetres has not measured the piece.
Is a marble table worth it?
It is, if you are buying it to keep. Natural marble does not peel, fade or discolour in sunlight, and it can be re-polished years later and come back like new — which is true of no engineered substitute.
It is not, if you want something you will replace in two years, or if the expected use is harsh — a kitchen where lemon and vinegar are used daily, for instance. We say that before the sale rather than after, and explained it in full in the marble-in-the-kitchen article.

Request a sample to see the stone under your own lighting, or browse the tables with their prices and measurements. And if your measurement is unusual, custom work is often cheaper than you would expect.
